Memory is fragile, provisional. Each time we remember, we invent. That’s why in each collage the image fractures only to recompose onto itself afterward. The same photograph, but different. Like a puzzle that makes sense by being disordered. Dismantling the image to understand how it works. Unraveling to weave again with the same ball of yarn. With this series of geometric collages made from found postcards with floral motifs, I dive deep into my most recurrent obsessions: the passage of time, fragmentation, compulsive order, and distortion.
And some new ones, like color and decorative flowers as border elements between the natural and the constructed, confronting the organic with the mathematical. Resulting in collages that are simple and off-key at once. Ornamental and symbolic. Familiar yet mysterious.
